Rotary 9101 Hand Over Ceremony
Rotarian Shola Joiner who is a Past Assistant Governor opened the Rotary 9101 Hand Over Ceremony with the following weloming remarks.
Today is not only a day for celebration. We in the Gambia are particularly delighted to host the entire District 9101 for the first time since Rotary was introduced in the Gambia. We in the District Administration Committee will do all in our capacity to ensure District Governor Aki Allen has a successful year in office. For those that have come from outside the Gambia, relax and enjoy yourselves.
This is just the beginning of a lot of things to come from the Smiling Coast of The Gambia. Just keep your eyes on the District website – https://rotary9101.org – where we shall be posting information about developments and/or events, in particular, the upcoming District Assembly & Conference (DAC), taking place from the 19th to 23rd March 2019.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome, all Rotarians from the rest of the District, and in particular, the Past District Governors, Assistant Governors and other officials. It is our prayer that you enjoy the evening so much that when you go back to your respective homes, your recounting of this event will be so dramatic that all who hear you, will be convinced that they cannot afford to miss the DAC.
We send our thanks and appreciation to our Chief Patron, HE Adama Barrow, and through him, the entire government of the Gambia, for their unflinching support to Rotary.
And to fellow Gambian Rotarians, family and friends of Rotary, even though I welcome you to this event, let me remind you that we are in this together.Together we can make it happen. To those who have worked tirelessly to organize this gala, I wish to register my appreciation and thanks. Rotaracts, you have been fantastic.
I wish to recognize the contribution of the media, the hotel management and staff.
